The Nagatani Family of Iga, Japan are 8th-generation master potters who produce all of the various donabe (earthenware pots) used at SingleThread as well as many of our vases, bowls, plates, and serving vessels. Each piece is hand made using the porous, fossil-rich clay found in Iga.

Mitsuko Siegrist of Tsuchikara Pottery started creating ceramics in 1994 along with the practice of the Way of Tea. She is also one of the artists at Pope Valley Richard Carter's Studio.
Mitsuko’s goal is to create works of art that have soul and sensibility. In the process of designing and making her pieces, she is mindful to leave space so that the food itself completes the composition, thereby creating an authentic dining experience for SingleThread's guests.

Mike Benz and Chris Fracaro of Seral Wood and Steel have produced many of the exceptional blades found in the dining room at SingleThread. Seral forges enduring cutlery from sustainably sourced materials and operates locally in Healdsburg, California.

Design partners Simplicity of Tokyo have created several of the custom glass, metal, and wood pieces used in the kitchen and dining room, including this copper service vessel.

Gato Mikio Co., Ltd. was founded in 1908 as Gato Woodworking plant in Yamanaka, a town in Ishikawa prefecture. The founder started as a wood turning craftsman and by the third generation, they have specialized in sales and planning of lacquerware. Mr. Masayuki Gato is the fourth-generation president. He collaborates with product designers to create functional yet beautiful pieces. The products made by Gato Mikio showcase many of the traditional techniques passed on in Yamanaka, such as a lacquering technique that maintains the appearance of woodgrain.

The small group of Yamanaka artisans known as Kihachi Kobo, produced all of the lacquerware for SingleThread over a one year period, using handmade tools and preserving the natural beauty of the wood grain.
